?Here at Fields Cadillac St. Augustine, we know a lot of Cadillac drivers are pretty serious about their cars. For some of you, that may mean you already know exactly which fuel type you want for your Cadillac car or SUV. But for many of us, the different fuel types at the pump can be a little bit mystifying.
Today, we’re going to try and clear up that mystery and help you figure out which fuel type is right for your beloved Cadillac vehicle.
Premium, Plus, and Regular Fuel Types
For most drivers, there are three types of gas to consider. Aside from the obvious price differences, what can you expect from each one, and what do those numbers mean?
The numbers correlate with “octane ratings,” which refers to fuel performance and its ability to withstand compression. But a higher octane doesn’t necessarily mean higher performance – it really just depends on the car.
Many vehicles are built to run on an 87 octane, or “regular” fuel, but some definitely benefit from a higher octane. The good news is that your car manual can tell you which is best for your specific Cadillac SUV or car.
What About Diesel?
Okay, so we’ve got the three major fuel types covered, you’ve checked your user’s manual, and you’re ready to get your Cadillac vehicle the regular, plus, or premium fuel it needs. But what about that fourth pump, the diesel pump?
You probably don’t have to worry about it. Most Cadillac models don’t use diesel, and if they do, you’ll know right away when you buy a model with a diesel option like the upcoming 2021 Cadillac Escalade.
Cadillac drivers near Daytona Beach deserve the best, which is why we recommend checking your manual to ensure you’re getting the fuel that drives the best performance.
