If you’re a new driver and it's time for your first Cadillac service appointment, you may have questions about what actually takes place. Here are four common service tasks we often perform here at Fields Cadillac St. Augustine and what they entail.

Oil Changes

During an oil change, the old fluid in your car will be drained out and new oil will be put in. Our technicians will talk to you ahead of time to find out what kind of oil you would like to use and offer recommendations. In addition, your oil filter may also need to be replaced if it is old and dirty.

Tire Rotations

A tire rotation involves strategically moving your car's tires to different wheels. It's important to regularly rotate your tires because it improves their performance and helps ensure that they have a longer lifespan.

Brake Inspections

Over time, parts of your braking system start to wear down. During a brake inspection, your pads, shoes, and rotors will be closely examined to see what kind of shape they are in. Our technicians may suggest that one of these components should be replaced.

Battery Checks

Because batteries don’t typically last very long, it’s a good idea to have yours checked annually. During this task, a machine will be hooked up to your battery to measure how much charge it has left. If it is low, our technicians may recommend getting a new one.

If you have any more questions about routine maintenance, get in touch with our service center at Fields Cadillac St. Augustine. You can also schedule an appointment for the services mentioned above or anything else your car may need.
