If you’re thinking about buying a new Cadillac CT5, you’re probably focused on things like its outstanding power, plush interior amenities, and state-of-the-art tech features. Another reason why this sedan is so popular is because of its impressive gas mileage. To achieve the best fuel economy – as well as optimal performance – you will need to use premium gas.
Two Engines to Choose From
The base engine in the Cadillac CT5 is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 237 horsepower. There are also two twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engines available: one that generates 335 horsepower and the other delivering 360 horsepower. All engines area mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available.
Fuel Economy
For its class, the Cadillac CT5 gets very good gas mileage. However, this does depend on which engine and drivetrain you decide to go with:
- Four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive: 23 MPG in the city, 32 MPG on the highway
- Four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive: 21 MPG in the city, 31 MPG on the highway
- V6 engine and rear-wheel drive: 19 MPG in the city, 28 MPG on the highway
- V6 engine and all-wheel drive: 18 MPG in the city, 26 MPG on the highway
- V-Series V6 engine and rear-wheel drive: 18 MPG in the city, 27 MPG on the highway
Safety Features
Another element of the Cadillac CT5 that proves luxury vehicles can be practical is all of the many safety systems it comes with. These include:
- Pedestrian detection
- Forward collision warning
- Rearview camera
- Forward automatic emergency braking
- Rain-sensing windshield wipers
- The Teen Driver system
You can also get several other features, such as lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and a surround-view parking camera system with a recording function.
