Step 1: Get Your Tools and Loosen the Lug Nuts
The first step is to locate your jack, lug wrench, and spare tire in trunk or rear cargo area. Once you get all of these out, it’s time to loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire. Don’t, however, take them off completely just yet.
Step 2: Raise the Car and Take Off the Bad Tire
Next, put the jack under a solid section of the car’s frame. Then raise the car until the tire is about six inches off the ground. Now you can fully take off the lug nuts.
Step 3: Put on the New Tire and Lower the Car
The last step is to line up the spare tire with the holes, mount it to the wheel, and put the lug nuts back on. Then lower the car back to the ground. Finally, make sure that the lug nuts are tight, but not excessively.
